NBC’s coverage of the NFL Playoffs continues this Saturday, Jan. 13, as Matt Ryan and the defending NFC champion Atlanta Falcons (NFC South, 10-6) visit Nick Foles and the NFC East champion Philadelphia Eagles (13-3) at Lincoln Financial Field. NBC’s NFL divisional coverage on Saturday begins with a special edition of Football Night in America on-site in Philadelphia at 3:30 p.m. ET.
The Eagles completed a “worst-to-first” turnaround on their way to capturing the No. 1 seed in the NFC for the first time since 2004. Philadelphia tied a franchise record with 13 wins while leading the league in rush defense (79.2 yards per game) and ranking No. 1 in the NFC in turnover differential (+11). Foles went 2-1 as Eagles starting QB this year, after winning 14 of 18 starts with the club in 2013-14.
The Falcons advanced to the Divisional Round after defeating the Los Angeles Rams 26-13 last Saturday. Ryan threw for 218 yards and one touchdown to WR Julio Jones on his way to posting a 101.8 passer rating. Ryan, who boasts the third-best career postseason passer rating in NFL history at 102.4, registered his fifth consecutive playoff game with a passer rating of at least 100 to tie the second-longest streak in the Super Bowl era.
Calling Falcons-Eagles are seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his record 32nd season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 16-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth; and two-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya.
NBC’s game coverage is led by Emmy Award-winning producer Fred Gaudelli and Emmy Award-winning director Drew Esocoff.
