National League All-Star manager Dave Roberts of the Los Angeles Dodgers has invited manager Dave Martinez of the host Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black to join his NL staff. As Joe Maddon’s bench coach, he served on the AL coaching staff at the 2009 Midsummer Classic in St. Louis and on the NL coaching staff at last year’s All-Star Game in Miami. Black, who played parts of 15 seasons in the Majors, was invited to coach on Clint Hurdle’s staff at the 2008 Midsummer Classic at Yankee Stadium and on Charlie Manuel’s staff at the 2010 All-Star Game in Anaheim. American League All-Star Manager AJ Hinch of the Houston Astros has invited manager Kevin Cash of the Tampa Bay Rays to join his AL staff, as well as Rich Dauer, who served as first base coach of the Astros during the Club’s 2017 World Series-winning season.
