FOX Sports bids farewell to the 2018 calendar year with back-to-back college football bowl games New Year’s Eve on FOX and FS1. On Monday, Dec. 31, coverage of the San Francisco Bowl begins at 2:30 PM ET on the FOX broadcast network before the game kicks off at 3:00 PM ET. Later that day on FS1, pregame coverage of the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl begins at 6:30 PM ET before the action begins at 7:00 PM ET.
“We are excited to once again conclude our college football season with these two excellent bowl games,” said Larry Jones, FOX Sports Executive Vice President, Business Operations. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with both organizations and to having the opportunity to showcase some of the nation’s top teams during the postseason.”
The Bay Area’s annual bowl game, played at Levi’s® Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., between representatives from the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences, returns to the FOX broadcast network for the third consecutive season. This marks the 17th installment of the game and also includes a day of service in which coaches and student-athletes from participating teams serve meals to those in need.
The SDCCU Holiday Bowl, which also features teams from the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences, moves to New Year’s Eve for the first time in the game’s 41-year history and is played live from SDCCU Stadium in San Diego. The 2018 season marks the second time the SDCCU Holiday Bowl is televised live on FS1, with last year’s game marking the channel’s first ever college football bowl game.
The San Francisco Bowl and SDCCU Holiday Bowl will both be simulcast in Spanish on FOX Deportes and streamed live on the FOX Sports app for participating pay-TV subscribers.
